A man who was found in possession of a knife while trespassing in Wisbech has been sentenced.

Grachan Jablowski, 36, and a 39-year-old man were found at Wisbech Recycling Centre, Boleness Road, at about 11.30pm on September 30, after police received reports of people breaking into the premises.

Jablowski, of Nene Quay, Wisbech, was arrested and charged with being found on an enclosed premises and being in possession of a knife – namely a lock knife - in a public place.

He appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Friday (November 1) where he admitted the offences and was ordered to complete 150 hours’ unpaid work.

No further action was taken against the 39-year-old man.

Detective Sergeant Paul Twell said: “Local officers have been working closely with partner agencies to reduce issues at the recycling centre for some time, with two closure orders being granted by the courts in December last year and March of this year.

“I urge people to continue reporting their concerns to us so we can continue to take action by arresting those causing the issues and putting them before the courts.”
