A 69-year-old man has been charged with murdering a pensioner who was stabbed and set alight in her Wisbech home 11 years ago.
Retired postmistress Una Crown, 86, was found by a relative at her bungalow on Magazine Lane in January 2013.
Today, Cambridgeshire police said David Newton, who lives nearby, has been charged with her murder.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday April 16).
The Una Crown case has been the subject of repeated appeals over the years and was also featured on BBC's Crimewatch.
Police insisted it would never be closed and they would investigate any new leads or information which emerged.
A number of arrests have also been made but no-one had previously been charged.
